RESEARCH EXPERIENCE 

1994-1998: Bachelor, Major: Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. 

1998-2003:Ph.D, Major: Materials Process and Engineering, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. Research topics: Simulation and Deposition of diamond films by HFCVD technique.

2003-2005: Postdoctoral Researcher, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), DLC Research Group, (Co-advisor: Dr. Kwang-Ryeol Lee), Korea. Research topics: Me-DLC nanocomposite films by ion beam.
2005-2006: Senior Research Scientist, Korea JNL Tech. Co. Ltd. Siheung, Korea. Research topics: R&D of ta-C films by FCVA and related DLC films by LIS. 
2006- Until now: Professor, Group leader, Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science. Ningbo, China.  Research topics: advanced carbon-based films, plasma based surface modification technology.
2014- 2023: Deputy Director of Zhejiang Key laboratory of Marine Materials and Protective Technologies

2015-2023: Deputy Director of Key laboratory of Marine Materials and Application Technologies, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Awards and Honors:

Dr. Aiying Wang gained lots of academic awards and related personal honors with her research, which include the National Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholars of China,  the Funds of Zhejiang high level talents, and many other awardeds . She has published more than 150 papers, granted over 80 invention patents ( including 4 PCT). She manufactured a series of advanced hybrid PVD deposition systems with high ionization, developed several hard yet tough protective and functional coating materials like amorphous carbon films, MAX phase coatings with high performance, brought forward the new strategy to deposite the coatings with high adhension strenghth on various substrates and large uniformity with complex structures etc.  She is now leading the team memder about 58 people, and focusing on the R&D of advanced protective coatings and functional thin films by PVD/CVD methods for marine applications and related high-technology mechanical components.
