On July 20, Dr. Christoph Schiffers from CemeCon AG Germany, and Mangaer Ni Hanzhong from CemeCon (Suzhou) visited our lab. Dr. Christoph delivered a presentation on “HIPIMS is the Future of Coating Technology - Advances in Deposition Equipment and Process Technology”, which was attended by more than 30 people from in and out of Key Laboratory of Marine Materials and Related Technologies, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In Dr. Christoph’s presentation, he introduced HIPIMS technique and its trend. He pointed out that HIPIMS has many advantages, including high instant power, high ionization rate and high ion energy, which can help realize the production of a smooth, dense coating with high hardness and toughness. Dr. Christoph also introduced about CemeCon AG Company and showed his desire to cooperate with research groups in China. Attendants had a warm discussion about HIMIPS after the presentation.

After the discussion, Prof. Wang showed the group from CemeCon Company around our labs, Key Laboratory of Marine Materials and Related Technologies as well as the display hall of CNITECH.
