Date: 2018-04-30     View: 2029

From April 23 to 27, 2018, the 45th ICMCTF International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings & Thin Films was held in San Diego, USA. Thousands of experts and scholars from all over the world attended the seminar.

Prof. Peiling Ke, Ph.D. student Lei Li and post-graduate student Jingzhou Liu attended the meeting. Among them, Prof. Peiling Ke, Lei Li and Jingzhou Liu made the reports entitled "Friction and Wear Mechanism of MoS2/C Composite Coatings under Atmospheric Environment", "Immersion Time-affected Tribocorrosion Behavior of Cr/GLC Multilayer Coating in Artificial Seawater", and "The Relationship between Mechanical Property and Phase Composition of Cr-Al-C Coating”. These reports mainly introduced the tribological properties and mechanism of the MoS2/C film, the abrasive performance of the amorphous carbon system in the marine environment and MAX phase research progress in the fields of phase structure and mechanical properties, which received strong interest from the participants. In addition, at this meeting, the team members had a full exchange with Dr. Jianqiang Zhu of Hauzer Company and General Manager of Super Crystal Ansu Yuan of the United States, and learned about the R&D progress and hotspots in the field of coating equipment and new coating development.

The International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF) is one of the leading international conferences that combines basic and applied researches in the fields of thin film deposition, characterization and surface modification, and is an important platform for promoting academic exchanges among experts, scholars and manufacturers in this field. . The chairman of the 45th session of the conference is Professor Yip-Wah Chung of Northwestern University. The conference was divided into 9 sub-meetings, including high temperature coating, hard coating and deposition technology, friction and mechanical properties of multifunctional materials and devices and coating materials, including more than 400 oral reports and more than 100 poster reports. At this conference, the participating scholars conducted in-depth exchanges on the research progress and future development direction of the recent coating equipment and coating technology hotspots.
